The Internet Is Bigger Than You Think
It is hard to imagine what life today would be like without the Internet. However, the Internet is bigger than a lot of people think. It is estimated that 2.2 billion people in the world use the Internet. That is approximately one- third of the world’s total population. It is estimated that the World Wide Web contains one trillion pages. That is enough pages to fill up the Empire state building 200,000 times. The Empire State Building has 102 stories and is 1,454 feet tall.
Additionally, there are enough World Wide Web pages to cover the state of New Jersey 2.7 times. New Jersey has a total area of 8,672 square miles. Furthermore, there are enough webpages on the Internet to fill up the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Kuwait and Luxembourg. The creators of the Internet probably did not imagine that they would make something that was large enough to be its own country.
