Ten Reasons Why You Should Consider Using A Facebook Messenger

(The review is submitted by the creator as an uptade to this video review)

Recently, Microsoft announced that they are abandoning the Windows Live Messenger instant messaging product and AOL has also announced that they are going to discontinue the development of AIM. These recent developments are somewhat indicative of what's happened in the instant messaging space over the past few years - traditional instant messaging networks and polygamy networks have increasingly become less relevant and Facebook has emerged as a dominant force in the instant messaging market.

Whilst Facebook chat initially emerged as a method by which to communicate with your Facebook friends through your web-browser, using your web-browser is not the only way in which you can communicate via chat with your friends. Indeed, you can also use your Windows computer desktop and you're Smartphone.

So, why should you consider using a Facebook Messenger Application on your Windows desktop?

Free The Browser

Whilst a web-browser is a versatile utility, it's not the best medium with which to communicate over a long period of time when engaging in other web-browsing tasks. Web-browser tabs make it difficult to identify when you have received an instant message when you're reading other content. Moreover, it can be inconvenient to allow Facebook to dominance your screen over a long duration.

Connect Passively

A desktop Messenger application facilitates staying connected even when you're not interested in reading Facebook feed content, as such, you remain connected to Facebook - for the purpose of Facebook IMs - perhaps you're expecting an important message, and maintain a connection to Facebook undistracted from your current tasks.

At a fundamental utility level all a Facebook chat application should do is connect to Facebook and allow you to communicate with your friends. However, when it comes down to it, we take for granted the ability to keep our chat window on top of our other applications, insert emoticons, hide our chat window quickly and see which friends have signed into Facebook.

Avoid Distraction

Facebook chat is now the dominant messenger network, however, many of us finds ourselves whiling away time looking at what our friends have been up to. A bit of self-discipline on our computers stops one from refreshing his/her Facebook feeds to see what our friends have been up to. A Facebook Messenger application ensures that you are easily reachable without the distraction.

See Who Is Online

It's incredibly easy to see who is online and who is offline, and also a very convenient way in which to send and receive Facebook messages. Facebook's website isn't particularly communicative regarding when your friends sign in and out of Facebook whereas Messenger information removes this information opacity.

There are a couple of useful downloads for your Windows computer to access Facebook chat - Chit Chat for Facebook and Facebook's Messenger.

Conclusion

Facebook Messenger application is a convenient, useful and reliable way in which to connect to the Facebook chat network. A Facebook Messenger application is likely a useful tool to use in combination with one's web-browser.
