Introducing TekSocial.com

For a while now I have been meaning to rebrand this website's domain to a more fitting name. Navigating to "thecreativeone.tv" no longer makes much sense, especially considering the suffix being used. This website started out as a domain focused around live broadcasts and the occasional blog update from myself. While this kind of content still exists, it's no secret that this website has evolved to become a vibrant community.

Between the heavy emphasis on the Social Blog and the amount of interaction seen on a daily basis, it's obviously time for a change. I'm very proud to announce that the new primary domain for this website is TekSocial.com. I have chosen this domain for the following reasons:

  • "Tek" signifies the main focus of this website, which is clearly technology
  • It's important that I use the name "Social" to differentiate this blog from other tech blogs
  • The use of "Tek" ties in with TekSetups.com, which is the other website I regularly manage

So what exactly is changing? First of all, navigating to "thecreativeone.tv" will auto redirect users to the new domain. At this time, you are not required to update bookmarks or links. Everything is being handled automatically. However, I do suggest updating them in your browser anyway just for the sake of change.

I have also taken the time to add an integrated forum to the site. While forumbytes.com isn't going anywhere, this new forum allows users to initiate conversations all within the same domain. User registration is not required at the moment, so anyone is free to post.

Other changes you may notice are mostly interface related. This means a new website logo, better organized page layouts and overall a cleaner interface. New site features will be introduced as time progresses, so definitely expect good things to come. This is just the beginning!

I have great confidence in this new domain, but as always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions, feedback or concerns. User feedback is always appreciated. Thank you and keep on blogging!

I really like the new name and logo! Good choice. It is better than what it used to be because the purpose of this site is basically Technology and Everyone can join (if they get accepted)

Yeah i like the logo but it doesnt blend with the grayish rectangle in the background. And i have to agree thecreativeone.tv just was not the meaning of the site anymore

Awesome idea, David! The re-brand was a great idea. Renaming to TekSocial = great decision, really lets everybody know what sort of content to expect now. Overall, great job!

TekSocial FTW!!! Dave, change is sometimes a great thing and the re-branding of Thecreativeone.tv to TekSocial.com is such a good transition. A lot of people probably go to sites (yours included) and like things to stay static for the most part. But me, I love to come to the site and see not only the content change but also the subtle things like colors, logo's, and design.

but in you videos is says go check ou thecreativeone,tv are you keeping the link as a link that transfers over too here

Mustard, that is correct. Old links will automatically redirect to the new domain.

Also thanks for the kind words, everyone! It's great knowing I have an awesome community to back me up with changes.

I'm liking the name change, it fits more for what this site is and it's easier to remember. I also love how TekSocial and TekSetups both tie together, this shows you're serious about your websites. :)

Keep up the great work, David.

Uhh, just to confirm "Mustard Cameron" isn't me. I have no idea why that person has used my name but the opposite way round? Sorry for the irrelevant comment, I just thought I'd clear that up.

Cameron, no problem! Thanks for letting me know.

Just to let you know, David. Maybe it's just my end, but sometimes the sponsors section isn't showing up.
